Metabase Installation Instructions

1). Spin up t2.medium in AL23 in x subnet, put into Security Group that has 22 and 3000 open to connect to
2). Assign elastic IP
3). Install Docker
4). Create Docker Containers for Metabase and Postgres

Ensure the OS is updated

~]$ sudo dnf update -y

Install Docker

~]$ sudo dnf install -y docker git
~]$ sudo systemctl enable --now docker
~]$ sudo usermod -aG docker ec2-user
~]$ exit

Log out and back into the SSH session

Install Docker Compose Plugin (from the Docker website for manual install)

~]$ mkdir -p ~/.docker/cli-plugins
~]$ curl -SL https://github.com/docker/compose/releases/download/v2.22.0/docker-compose-linux-x86_64 -o ~/.docker/cli-plugins/docker-compose
~]$ chmod +x ~/.docker/cli-plugins/docker-compose

Create the YAML file for Docker to run Postgres and Metabase

      MB_DB_HOST: postgres
    ports:
      - "3000:3000"
    depends_on:
      - postgres

volumes:
  pgdata:

Start Docker Containers

~]$ docker ps
~]$ docker compose logs -f
~]$

Visit the website: http://192.168.1.3:3000/

Create user
tor@ with password secret

Add the Data source for AIMS
jdbc:sqlserver://192.168.1.2:1433;databaseName=X;username=USER;password=secret
